You do not need a work permit or a work visa to freelance or work remotely in Armenia. It is sufficient to have a regular visa, or if you are from a visa-exempt country, you may simply travel to Armenia and start working from there. In any case, if you plan to stay for longer periods, a residence permit will probably be required. 

Armenia supports cashless payments throughout the country.  Most places accept all types of credit and debit cards, although we still recommend you keep some cash with you as it can be quicker if paying for small purchases.

You can easily use your local card, international card, or mobile phone to make payments in supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls, and elsewhere. Additionally, you can use ATM terminals to withdraw cash in Armenian Drams. Many of these ATM terminals are available on the streets in Yerevan and other regions.

While the use of cryptocurrency for direct payments at every day retailers may not yet be widespread, Armenia is taking steps to regulate the crypto market. It is possible to use cryptocurrency exchanges and buy and sell crypto currencies within Armenia within the bounds of the new laws being put into place.
