How to Register a Car?

The guide provides the necessary information on the steps to take after purchasing a car, from collecting the necessary documents for the registration process to choosing a license plate.

Car Registration Steps

  1. Step 1

    Online Booking

    First, you need to register online at the preferred Records and Examination Division, where the registration will take place.

  2. Step 2

    Document Collection

    It is necessary to prepare in advance the documents that will be required for vehicle registration.

  3. Step 3

    Visit Registration Examination Department

    On the day and time of your scheduled visit, you must appear at the Records and Examination Division with all the required documents. This guide will provide information on when to bring the vehicle.

  4. Step 4

    Car Inspection

    If the vehicle has been reconditioned, it is necessary to start the vehicle registration process upon arrival at the inspection station.

  5. Step 5

    Payment

    It is necessary to pay the required fees and charges at the point of payment.

  6. Step 6

    On-site Booking

    If a queue system is available at a given HCB (Yerevan, Kotayk, Artashat), obtain a queue ticket after making payments. Use this ticket to be served in the hall.

  7. Step 7

    Accounting Transaction

    You'll need to submit all the required documents to the service center to register your vehicle and get a license plate.

  8. Step 8

    Obtaining a Registration Certificate

    After completing the transaction, you need to approach the document printing and distribution center to obtain your vehicle registration certificate (technical passport).

Inspection Station

Car Inspection

A reconditioned car must undergo an inspection before registration. The first step when visiting the registration inspection department is to approach the inspection station. Here, the actual data of your car will be compared with the information on your vehicle documents.

After registering the car data, an inspection protocol will be generated. This protocol will outline all the necessary procedures and payments that you must complete. You must present this protocol, along with your other required documents, to the service center employee.

The average duration of the inspection is 5-10 minutes.

Making Payments

It is necessary to pay the prescribed fees and charges at the designated payment area of the registration examination department. This can also be done online. Receipts confirming the payments, along with other documents, must be presented to the service center employee.

Registration and Obtaining a License Plate

"To be served, after making the payment, if there is a queue system in the salon, you need to take a queue ticket. When your turn arrives, approach the appropriate employee. They will check your documents, make the necessary registrations, and provide you with a regular or paid registration number. You can expect to wait approximately 15 minutes for your vehicle to be registered.

Obtaining an International Technical Passport

To obtain an international technical passport (registration certificate), it is necessary to submit to the registration department:

  • Identity document
  • Registration certificate (technical passport)
  • Document confirming payment of the fee (6,000 AMD) established by law
  • The international technical passport of the car will be issued on the day of submission of the documents, after completing the relevant registrations
