Obtaining a Certificate of Criminal Record

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, it is possible to apply online or in person:

  • after applying online, the certificate can be obtained from the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 10:00-12:00),

  • in case of applying in person, it will be necessary to visit the department both when submitting the application and when receiving the certificate (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 10:00-12:00).

How to apply

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status in the RA, it is necessary to apply to:

  • The Consular Department of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Vazgen Sargsyan st. 3, Yerevan 0010),
  • Any branch of "HayPost" CJSC,
  • "Ardshinbank" (Address: Tigran Mets st. 24, Yerevan) or "Converse Bank" (Address: 4/6 Kajaznuni, Yerevan),
  • RA Embassies and consular offices (in foreign states).

To receive the certificate from the Consular Department of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Vazgen Sargsyan st., 3, Yerevan 0010), it is necessary to book a visit in advance.

Requirements

To obtain the certificate, the person must be at least 16 years old and must have resided in the RA for at least 6 months. In the case of a minor aged 16-18, the application is submitted by their parent or legal representative.

The parent, brother, sister, spouse, child, or authorized representative of the person receiving the certificate may also apply.

Required documents

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, the following documents must be submitted:

  • an application (provided on-site),
  • a passport or identification card and its copy,
  • if the applicant, at the time of submitting the application in person, authorizes a third party to receive the certificate, a copy of that person’s passport or identification card.

If the application is submitted by the parent, brother, sister, spouse, child, or authorized representative of the person receiving the certificate, the following documents must also be submitted:

  • in the case of a parent: the original and a copy of the parent's passport or identification card, and copies of the recipient's passport or identification card and birth certificate,

  • in the case of a brother or sister: the original and a copy of the sibling's passport or identification card, the original of their birth certificate, and copies of the recipient's birth certificate and passport or identification card,

  • in the case of a spouse: the original and a copy of the spouse's passport or identification card, and copies of the recipient's passport or identification card and marriage certificate,

  • in the case of a child: the original and a copy of the child's passport or identification card, and copies of their birth certificate and the recipient's passport or identification card,

  • in the case of an authorized representative: the authorized person's passport or identification card, the original power of attorney (notarization of the power of attorney is not required), and a copy of the recipient's passport or identification card.


Payment amount and procedure

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, it is necessary to pay a state duty of 7,000 AMD.

The payment is carried out via one of the following methods:

  • via the E-payments system,

  • via bank transfer to the RA state budget account number: 900005163515400. In the purpose field of the transfer, you must specify "For the provision of a certificate on the presence of a criminal record or search status in the RA" (if it is not possible to make a transfer to this account number in the banking application, please select the "Transfer to the state budget" option).

A fee is set for the delivery of the certificate by the RA MFA to the address specified by the applicant.

The payment for postal delivery can be made at any commercial bank operating in the RA, through the electronic state payment system, or on-site via an instant payment system (terminal) to the following treasury account numbers:

  • For delivery within the RA: 900013196101 (430 AMD),

  • For delivery outside the RA: 900013196093 (11,000–25,000 AMD, depending on the country of delivery).

 

Processing  time and procedure

The certificate is provided within 2 working days.

In case of the need for additional checks, the certificate is provided within a maximum of 8 working days.

A certificate authenticated by Apostille is provided only by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
