Obtaining a Certificate of Criminal Record

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, it is possible to apply online or in person:

  • after applying online, the certificate can be obtained from the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 10:00-12:00),

  • in case of applying in person, it will be necessary to visit the department both when submitting the application and when receiving the certificate (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 10:00-12:00).

How to apply

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status in the RA, it is necessary to apply to:

  • The Consular Department of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Address: Vazgen Sargsyan st. 3, Yerevan 0010),
  • Any branch of "HayPost" CJSC,
  • "Ardshinbank" (Address: Tigran Mets st. 24, Yerevan) or "Converse Bank" (Address: 4/6 Kajaznuni, Yerevan),
  • RA Embassies and consular offices (in foreign states)


Required documents

To obtain the certificate, individuals aged 16 and over may apply in person or through a parent, sister, brother, spouse, child, or authorized representative.

The application for a person aged 14–16 is submitted by their parent or legal representative.

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, an application must be completed on-site (application form for submission within the RA, application form for submission in a foreign state). The following documents must be attached to the application:

  • a passport or identification card and its copy,

  • if the person, at the time of submitting the application, indicates that another person will receive the certificate, a copy of the recipient's passport or identification card.

If the application is submitted by a parent, brother, sister, spouse, child, or authorized representative (guardian, trustee), the following must be submitted:

  • the original and a copy of the applicant's passport (identification card),

  • a copy of the passport (identification card) of the person for whom the certificate is being obtained,

and also:

  • in the case of a parent: a copy of the birth certificate of the person for whom the certificate is being obtained,

  • in the case of a sister or brother: a copy of the applicant's birth certificate and a copy of the birth certificate of the person for whom the certificate is being obtained,

  • in the case of a spouse: a copy of the marriage certificate,

  • in the case of a child: a copy of the applicant's birth certificate,

  • in the case of an authorized representative (guardian, trustee): the original power of attorney.


Payment amount and procedure

To obtain a certificate of criminal record and search status, it is necessary to pay:

  • In the RA: 7,000 AMD,

  • In a foreign state: 25,000 AMD.

    The document is provided with Apostille authentication (there is no need to make an additional payment for the Apostille).

The payment is carried out via one of the following methods:

  • via the E-payments system,

  • via bank transfer to the RA state budget account number: 900005163515400. In the purpose field of the transfer, you must specify "For the provision of a certificate on the presence of a criminal record or search status in the RA".

An additional fee is set for the delivery of the certificate by the RA MFA to the address specified by the applicant:

For delivery within the RA: 430 AMD.

Payment is carried out via:

  • the E-payments system,

  • bank transfer to the RA state budget account number: 900013196101. In the purpose field, specify "For individual postal delivery to citizens by the RA MFA - within the territory of the RA".

For delivery outside the RA: 11,000 – 25,000 AMD, depending on the country of delivery.

Payment is carried out via:

  • the E-payments system,

  • bank transfer to the RA state budget account number: 900013196093. In the purpose field, specify "For individual postal delivery to citizens by the RA MFA - outside the territory of the RA".

Processing time and procedure

The certificate is provided within 5 working days after submitting an online application. It can be received:

  • when applying in the RA: from the Consular Department of the MFA or via postal delivery,

  • when applying abroad: from the embassy, consular office, or via postal delivery.

To submit a certificate application at the Consular Department, you must take a queue ticket by pressing "Apply" on the device screen; to receive it, take a ticket by pressing the "Receive" button.
