Obtain Permanent Resident Permit
To obtain a permanent residence permit in Armenia, you must apply in person to the Department of Foreigners of the Migration and Citizenship Service, located at 14 Tairov Street. You must schedule an appointment in advance.
After applying for a permanent residence permit, a foreign national receives a permanent residence card as proof of their residency. This card is valid for five years and is renewable.
When booking a visit, it is necessary to indicate the details of the person who will personally appear for the reception. Individual registration is required for each visitor, regardless of age.
To Register Online, You Need:
- After identification, fill in the required data in the “Applicant Page” (first and last names must be filled in Armenian letters, as written in the passport) and click the “Next Page” button
- In the “Place of Visit” field on the page that opens, select the department located at Tairov 14,
- In the “Additional Visitors” field, fill in the data of accompanying persons (for example, the child’s parents)
- In the “Day and Time of Visit” section, select the most suitable option from the available days and times and book the visit.
Requirements
To obtain a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Armenia, a foreigner must prove that:
- Has a spouse or close relative (parent, child, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild) who is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia or has a special residence status in the Republic of Armenia, is provided with housing and means of subsistence in the Republic of Armenia
- And has resided in the Republic of Armenia for at least three years prior to applying for permanent residence status
- Is of Armenian nationality
- Is engaged in entrepreneurial activity in the Republic of Armenia
Required Documents
To obtain permanent residence status, it is necessary to submit:
- Application form (filled out on site)
- Three color photos measuring 35 x 45 mm
- Passport, copy of passport, and notarized Armenian translation of the passport
- Documents demonstrating circumstances justifying obtaining a residence permit (extension of the residence permit) in the Republic of Armenia
- Health certificate
- Receipt of state duty payment

Payment Amount and Procedure
To obtain permanent residence status, you need to pay 140,000 AMD.
Payment can be made on-site, via a POS terminal, online, at any bank by transferring to account number 900005162111, as well as through the banking application (if you cannot transfer to this account number in the banking application, please select the “Transfer to state budget” option).
Permanent residence permits are granted free of charge to the following persons:
- Minors (under 18 years of age)
- Close relatives of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia
- Foreign students studying at educational institutions in Armenia, teachers and lecturers
- Persons arriving in the Republic of Armenia to provide humanitarian or technical assistance
- Foreign specialists invited to work by the President of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly, the Government, and their family members
- Persons entering the Republic of Armenia with diplomatic passports, as well as employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states in the Republic of Armenia and their family members
- Officials and members of delegations visiting the Republic of Armenia at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister or the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Human Rights Defender
- Foreign citizens of Armenian nationality whose foreign country of permanent residence has created an emergency situation threatening the life or health of citizens
- Close relatives of a person who has been granted refugee status and arriving in the Republic of Armenia
Delivery Period and Procedure
The residence card is issued within one month of application. To obtain it, visit the Unified Public Services Office at 3 Vazgen Sargsyan.
If the application for a residence permit is rejected, the decision is mailed to the applicant.
