Obtain a Death Certificate
A death certificate is an official state document verifying a death and is issued with a unique identification number. The certificate includes the deceased's name, identification document number, and their dates of birth and death.
Without a death certificate, it is impossible to carry out any procedures related to the death, such as receiving a funeral benefit, managing the deceased's obligations, or even organizing the burial.
How to apply?
To register a death with the state and obtain a death certificate, it is necessary to:
- Fill in the details of the deceased after completing the identification process,
- Enter the reference number of the conclusion on the cause of death, which is provided by a physician or a pathology center.
Processing time and procedure
A digital version of the death certificate is sent to the applicant's email address on the same day the application is submitted.
If necessary, it is also possible to obtain a duplicate of the death certificate online (including duplicates of paper certificates issued prior to 2021).
