Obtain a Passport for a Child (Under 16 Years Old)
Citizens of the Republic of Armenia can voluntarily obtain a passport, regardless of age. A passport is a document certifying a person's identity and citizenship, intended for exiting and returning to the Republic of Armenia and for use within its territory.
To obtain or exchange a passport in Yerevan, you must physically appear at the preferred passport office, having previously booked a visit. A queue system has not yet been implemented in the regions; you must appear physically without having previously booked a visit.
A passport is issued to a child under 16 upon the application of one of the child's parents or another legal representative (adoptive parent, guardian, or trustee).
Attention
To obtain a child's first passport, it is necessary to visit the passport office at the child's place of registration.
When booking a visit, it is necessary to indicate the details of the person who will personally appear for the reception. Individual registration is required for each visitor, regardless of age.
To register online you need:
- After identification, fill in the required data (first and last name must be filled in Armenian, as written in the passport) and click the "Next page" button
- On the page that opens, enter your e-mail address and phone number, then the code sent to your e-mail
- In the "Visit Reservation" field on the page that opens, select the department located at 17/10, Davtashen, 4th district
- You must fill in the data of the person for whom the application is submitted
- In the "Select Day and Time" window, select the most convenient option from the available days and times
Requirements
To obtain a passport, you need:
- Be registered in the State Population Register.
- When registering a place of residence (address registration), a person's data about their place of residence is recorded in the State Population Register.
Required Documents
The child's parent or legal representative (adoptive parent, guardian, or trustee) must present:
- The child's birth certificate, the parents' marriage certificate (or death certificate, paternity certificate, or certificate of single motherhood or a court decision that has entered into legal force on declaring the person missing or deceased), the parents' identity document.
- In case the application is submitted by a legal representative, a document confirming the legal representative.
- The written consent of the applicant and his/her parents to obtain a passport, as stipulated in the RA Law "On Citizenship of the Republic of Armenia".
- Moreover, if the parent cannot personally submit his/her consent, the authenticity of his/her signature on the submitted consent must be notarized.
- Two color photographs measuring 35 x 45 mm
- If the required documents are drawn up in a foreign language, their notarized and certified Armenian translations
- If possible, also photocopies of the documents.
Payment Amount and Procedure
To obtain a passport, you must pay 1,000 AMD. You can make the payment through a payment terminal installed in the department or online by submitting the payment receipt.
The payment bank account number for receiving the passport within the specified period is 900005162152.
Delivery Period and Procedure
Passports are issued within 5 business days. To obtain your passport, you must visit the passport office where you applied.
It is also possible to receive your passport sooner.
The payment amounts and issuance deadlines for obtaining a passport earlier are:
- AMD 1,000+10,000 to receive the passport on the 3rd working day
- AMD 1,000+20,000 to receive the passport within 1 working day
In this case, payment can only be made at the passport office using a payment terminal.
