Apply for Child Care Allowance for Children Under Two Years of Age

In order to improve the demographic situation and stimulate the birth rate, the state provides monthly support for the care of a child up to two years old.

The support program is also intended for people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

You can apply for this service in person by booking an appointment in advance.

To receive the child care allowance for children under two years of age, you must first submit an online application, after which you must visit the bank to receive the first month's allowance.

To submit an online application, you will need:

  • Register at online.ssa.am

  • Visit the “Online Pension and Benefits Applications” section

  • Select the “Submit an Application for Child Care Benefits up to 2 Years Old” subsection

  • Fill in the required information and submit the application

A confirmation message will be sent to the email address specified by the applicant during registration.


To complete the application process, you will need:

  • Open the registration confirmation message and follow the link
  • Log in to your personal page by entering your email address and password
  • Fill in the required information in the window that opens
  • In the “Paying Organizations” field, select the bank you wish to visit to receive the benefit
  • Click the “Send” button

After applying, a message will be sent to your email confirming or rejecting the application.

Requirements

Childcare allowance for children under 2 years of age can be received:

  • If you are on childcare leave for children under 3 years of age and apply for the allowance before the child turns 2 years of age
  • If you are registered in a rural area and have lived at that address for at least 1 year in a row as of the date of applying for the allowance

 

An additional requirement established for foreign citizens is to be registered at the address of residence in the Republic of Armenia for at least 3 consecutive years as of the child's birth date.

Required Documents

To receive the first month's allowance, you must physically visit the bank and present an ID.

If the first month's allowance is to be received physically by a guardian, you must also submit:

  • A document on guardianship
  • A power of attorney issued by the parent to pay the care allowance in cash to the applicant.
    • The power of attorney must be notarized.

Amount of Support

If the child was born before January 1, 2023, the benefit is:

  • 31,600 AMD if the applicant is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

  • 31,600 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and does not work

  • 63,200 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old


If the child was born after January 1, 2023, the benefit is:

  • 37,500 AMD if the applicant is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

  • 31,600 AMD if the applicant is not on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

  • 69,100 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old


Delivery Period and Procedure

Within 10 business days after the application is approved, you must visit the bank with an identification document to receive the first month's benefit in person.

Benefits for the second and subsequent months are provided via transfer to the applicant's bank account.
