Dual citizens can now easily exchange their foreign driving licence for an Armenian one
From March 6, 2025, RA dual citizens can obtain a national driver’s license within 1 working day, without the need to pass theoretical or practical exams.
Moreover, when receiving the RA national driver’s license, their foreign-issued driver’s license will remain legally valid.
This regulation applies to driver’s licenses issued by countries that comply with the requirements of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
However, citizens of these countries who do not hold RA citizenship must exchange their foreign driver’s license for an Armenian one. This process takes 2-4 months, and once the RA driver’s license is issued, the foreign license loses its legal validity.
You can find details on required documents and other information regarding the exchange process for foreign licenses and the issuance of an RA driver’s license for dual citizens in the guide.
