Apply for a Work-Based Residence Status
Employers who want to hire foreign workers can apply online for residence status based on employment for the candidate.
Steps to follow after clicking the “Continue” button:
To apply online:
- Register as an employer on the page (actions on the platform can be performed by a person authorized by the employer's executive body).
- In the “New Application” section, under the “Work Permit” window, fill in the required information about the vacant job and confirm the application.
Within 15 working days, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will issue approval for hiring the foreign employee.
After receiving approval, the foreigner’s data must be entered in the “Current Cases” section of the same platform.
Applications for work permits can also be submitted for volunteers. In this case, the application is submitted in the “Volunteer” section.
Required documents
In some cases, additional documents may be required to issue the work permit. These cases are listed in the “Exception List for Specific Professions” section of the application submission.
Attention
Citizens of EAEU member states and their families who work in Armenia do not need to submit a permit document. EAEU citizens can apply online to confirm their legal residence status, and their family members can do the same (use the browser's translation tool for English)․
Payment amount and procedure
The fee for a foreign worker’s temporary residence card is 105,000 AMD. The payment can be made by either the employer or employee, as agreed between them.
Delivery period and procedure
The residence card will be issued within 2 months of the employer’s application.
The foreign worker will receive an email about their temporary residence status based on employment. To get the residence card, the worker needs to visit the Unified Public Services Office at 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street (Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00, with a break from 14:00-15:00).
