Restore or Exchange Permanent Residence Card
If a permanent residence card is lost, it can be restored. If it is unusable or the individual's passport has been changed, the card can be exchanged.
To restore or exchange a permanent residence card, you must physically apply to the Department of Foreigners of the Migration and Citizenship Service at Tairov 14.
During the visit, it is necessary to submit the required documents to the Department of Foreigners of the Migration and Citizenship Service.
Required Documents
To renew or exchange a permanent residence card, you must submit the following documents:
- Application in the name of the Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service
- One 35 x 45 mm photo
- In case of receiving a privilege not to pay state duty, a document confirming the exemption.
- In case of changing the passport, a notarized Armenian translation of the new passport.
Payment Amount and Procedure
To reissue a residence card, you need to pay 12,000 AMD. You can make payment online or on site via a POS terminal.
When restoring or exchanging a permanent residence card, it is provided free of charge to the following persons:
- Minors (under 18 years of age)
- Close relatives of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia
- Foreign students studying at educational institutions in Armenia, teachers and lecturers
- Persons arriving in the Republic of Armenia to provide humanitarian or technical assistance
- Foreign specialists (and their family members) invited to work by the President of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly, and the Government.
- Persons entering the Republic of Armenia with diplomatic passports, as well as employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states in the Republic of Armenia and their family members
- Officials and members of delegations visiting the Republic of Armenia at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister or the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Human Rights Defender.
- Foreign citizens of Armenian nationality whose foreign country of permanent residence has created an emergency situation threatening the life or health of citizens
- Close relatives of a person who has been granted refugee status and arriving in the Republic of Armenia.
Delivery Time
The new permanent residence card is issued within 5-10 days. To obtain it, you must visit the Unified Public Services Office located at 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street.
