Change First Name, Surname, or Patronymic

Any person who has reached the age of 18 has the right to change their first name, surname, or patronymic without a court decision.

Upon the state registration of a name change, a name change certificate is issued. If necessary, it is also possible to obtain a duplicate of the certificate online (including duplicates of paper certificates issued prior to 2021).

How to Apply

To register a name change online, clicking the "Continue" button and follow these steps:

  • Complete "YesEm" identification;
  • fill in the applicant's personal data;
  • follow the instructions for the required steps;
  • review your information, sign the application digitally, and process the payment.

 

Requirements

To access the online name change service, you must have a "YesEm" identification and a digital signature.

 

Required Information

To complete the online registration, the following should be provided:

  • Identification document number,
  • phone number,
  • email address. 

Attention
If your data does not load during the application process, you may need to apply for a digitized duplicate of your birth certificate. This is because birth certificates issued before a certain year may not yet be available in the digital database.

 

Payment Amount and Procedure

The state duty for changing a last name, first name, and patronymic, including the issuance of a certificate, is 50,000 AMD.

 

Delievery Period and Procedure

The name change is approved within 15 working days after submitting the application. If an expedited fee is paid, the faster timelines mentioned above will apply.
