To receive a disability benefit in the Republic of Armenia, one must apply to the Territorial Center of the Unified Social Service (USS) and submit an application.

Eligibility Requirements
The disability benefit is assigned from the date a person is officially recognized as disabled by the authorized state body responsible for medical-social examination, provided the application is submitted within 3 months from that date.

Required Documents
To receive a disability benefit, the following documents must be submitted:

• Application,
• Identification card or passport,
• Social card (not required if the applicant has an identification card) or a certificate confirming non-receipt of a social card,
• Extract from the medical-social examination decision, issued by a medical institution,
• Residency status document (for foreign citizens and stateless persons),
• Convention travel document (for individuals with refugee status).

Amount of Benefit
Depending on the degree of disability (functional limitation), the monthly benefit amount is as follows:

• 39,000 AMD for individuals with a severe functional limitation (equivalent to Group I disability),
• 37,500 AMD for individuals with a serious functional limitation (Group II disability),
• 36,000 AMD for individuals with a moderate functional limitation (Group III disability).

Procedure and Timeline
The application is reviewed by a social service officer. Within 10 working days, the applicant is notified of the approval or denial of the benefit.
