Obtain a Funeral Benefit
The funeral benefit is a one-time financial support provided to the person who organized the funeral, provided that a death certificate is available.
How to apply
The following steps must be completed after clicking the "Continue" button.
To receive the funeral benefit, it is necessary to:
- register by filling in your personal details,
- select the "Online Applications for Pensions and Benefits" section,
- select the "Enter Funeral Benefit Application" subsection,
- fill in the required data for both the applicant and the deceased person,
- select the bank,
- click the "Create" button.
Required documents
To apply for the funeral benefit, it is necessary to submit:
- a passport or identification card,
- the death certificate and its copy,
- in the event of the death of a person whose disability term has expired and who did not appear for re-examination: in addition to the documents mentioned above, a certificate regarding the deceased person's failure to appear for re-examination is also required.
A funeral benefit is assigned:
- In the event of the death of a pensioner;
- In the event of the death of a person with a disability, if they died within 3 months after their re-examination deadline expired without appearing for the examination;
- In the event of the death of an individual recognized as having a disability who had been granted that status but had not yet applied for the benefit and died within 3 months of the date they were recognized as having a disability;
- In the event of the death of a former serviceman discharged from service who had a disability and had acquired the right to a pension, but had not applied for its assignment within 6 months after discharge or after being recognized as having a disability.
Attention
- The funeral benefit is paid within 6 months of the individual's death, provided that a written application and the necessary documents are submitted to the pension-granting subdivision.
- In the event of the death of a beneficiary residing in a social protection institution, the funeral benefit is not paid if the burial is performed by that institution.
- A mandatory condition for the benefit's assignment is that the burial of the deceased must have taken place in the Republic of Armenia.
Processing time and Procedure
The funeral benefit is provided within 5 working days after the submission of the application.
