Get a License for Importing or Exporting Hazardous Waste

To import or export hazardous waste into or from the Republic of Armenia, a license from the Ministry of Environment is required.

The list of restricted materials is defined in the Government’s Decision No. 1524-N, dated 2014 (the decision can be found on arlis.am).

The service is available by video call in some countries if you request it in advance.

The following steps should be followed after clicking the "Continue" button.

To get the license, it is necessary to submit an online application through the Republic of Armenia’s National Single Window Electronic Platform for Foreign Trade.

To submit the online application:

  • After identification, select “Export” or “Import” from the “Unified Application” section on the page that opens.
  • Click "New Application" in the upper-right corner
  • For exports, the exporter’s details will be auto-filled at the bottom; for imports, the importer’s details will be auto-filled at the top
  • Click "Products" at the top, then select "Add Product"
  • Enter product details and save
  • Upload the required documents in the "Attached Documents" section
  • Click "Form" in the upper-right corner to submit the application


Required Documents

To apply for a license, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Application
  • State registration certificate number (for individuals: individual entrepreneur registration number and a copy of the registration certificate)
  • License for the relevant activity (if related to product circulation)
  • Payment receipt for the state duty (copy or electronic receipt)
  • Contract between exporter and importer (if applying as an intermediary)
  • Transportation contract and contract between exporter and waste disposal party, with details on safe waste management

Proof of technical capacity for handling hazardous waste (e.g., an extract from the technological regulation or a document confirming the ability to use hazardous waste without generating additional hazardous residues)


Grounds for Denial of License

The license may be denied if:

  • Required documents are missing or contain incorrect information
  • One or more supporting documents have expired or been suspended
  • The quota or tariff quota has been exhausted


Payment Amount and Procedure

The license fee is 1,000 AMD. Payment must be made via bank transfer to account number 900005000840.


Delivery Period and Procedure

The license is issued within 1 working day after submission.

It is valid for 1 year and applies only to products with established export/import quotas. The license remains valid until the end of the calendar year for which the quota is set.
