Choose a Cemetery Plot for Burial

In the event of the loss of a relative, it is possible to choose a cemetery plot and organize the funeral by submitting an application to the "Special Service for the Population" organization, which is more commonly known as the Funeral Bureau.

How to apply

To organize a funeral in Yerevan, it is necessary to apply to the "Special Service for the Population" (Funeral Bureau) community non-commercial organization (Address: 31/2 Halabyan Street) and submit the required documents. For selecting a cemetery plot, the office is open every day: weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

To organize a funeral in the provinces, it is necessary to apply to the local "Special Service for the Population" organization of the given region.


Requirements

  • To select a cemetery plot and organize a funeral, it is necessary to have the death certificate of the deceased.
  • The deceased is buried in an open cemetery of the community where they resided or were registered, or in a family cemetery plot. If there is no open cemetery in the given community, a space is allocated in the open cemetery of the community closest to the place of registration.


Required documents

It is necessary to submit:

  • the original death certificate,
  • the passport or identification card of the funeral organizer,
  • in the case of a burial in a family plot: the cemetery certificate and the written consent of the individual authorized to use the plot.


Payment amount and Procedure

The allocation of a cemetery plot and basic maintenance are provided free of charge, while additional services are paid (optional).

Free of Charge

  • Cemetery Plot: A space of 2.5 square meters is provided (or a maximum of 12.5 square meters for a family plot), along with a plaque containing the deceased's information.

Paid Services

  • Grave Digging: AMD 26,900
  • Full Service: AMD 39,000 (includes grave digging, placement of the remains, and formation of the burial mound)
  • Provision of a Cover: AMD 5,000 / 8,000
  • Metal Pedestal: AMD 5,000


Processing time and Procedure

The service is provided on the day of the application.
