Buy, sell, or donate a vehicle (transfer ownership rights)
When selling, buying, or donating a vehicle, the ownership right must be officially registered.
The transaction can be completed online within a few minutes, without visiting a Records and Examinations Division.
How to apply?
To register a vehicle’s ownership right, after clicking the "Continue" button and completing the identification:
- The seller logs into the system, creates an online application, and sends it to the buyer.
- The buyer receives the application, pays the fees, and signs the electronic contract.
- The seller receives the contract signed by the buyer and signs it too, after which the vehicle’s ownership right is transferred to the buyer.
Requirements
You can register the ownership right of a vehicle online only if:
- Both the buyer and seller have “YesEm” mobile identification.
- Both the buyer and seller have a driver’s license.
- The vehicle has either a "regular" (12,000 AMD) or "preferred" (36,000 AMD) license plate, which will remain the same after the sale of the vehicle.
Required information
When using the service, you will need to provide:
- your email address,
- your mobile phone number,
- the sale price of the vehicle.
Payment amount and procedure
The buyer and the seller agree upon the vehicle sale price and the payment procedure. The payment is not made during the transaction.
Taxes and state duties related to the vehicle sale are calculated and paid at the time of the transaction in the following amounts:
By the buyer:
- 5,000 AMD – for registering the vehicle,
- 6,000 AMD – for the registration certificate.
By the seller:
- accumulated property tax,
- a duty equal to horsepower × 150 AMD, if the vehicle is sold within 1 year after purchase.
Delivery period and procedure
The ownership right of the vehicle is transferred from the moment the online contract is signed by both the buyer and the seller.
