Get consular legalization
Consular legalization is the verification of the authenticity of signatures and seals on documents, carried out at Armenian diplomatic missions, consular offices, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
To get consular legalization, you need to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia or an Armenian consular office abroad and present the document for legalization along with the required supporting documents.
Documents eligible for consular legalization
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia:
- Originals of documents issued by Armenian government bodies, organizations, or institutions, their extracts, and related certificates.
- Originals of documents issued by local self-governing institutions or their subordinate organizations and institutions, their extracts, and related certificates.
- Armenian notarized documents.
- Documents and acts issued or certified by foreign diplomatic missions or consular offices accredited in Armenia.
At Armenian embassies or consular offices abroad:
- Documents issued or certified by competent authorities of a foreign country.
- Documents legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia for submission abroad.

- Original document for legalization
- Copy of the document for legalization
- State duty payment receipt
Payment amount and procedure
The state duty for consular legalization of documents is:
- for physical persons: 5,000 AMD,
- for legal etities: 15,000 AMD.
The fee is paid when submitting the application at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
Delivery period and procedure
Documents are legalized within 2 working days from the date of submitting the application.
If additional verification is needed, the processing time may be extended:
- Up to 10 working days at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Up to 15 working days at a consular office
Attention
A document legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must also be certified at the diplomatic mission or consular office of the foreign country where it will be used.
A document or act is considered valid in Armenia once it has been certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In foreign countries, recognition requires certification by the relevant foreign ministry or authorized bodies of that country.
