Move your belongings to Armenia without customs duty
If you are an Armenian moving to Armenia for permanent residence, you can import your personal belongings into Armenia without paying customs duty.
You can apply for this service in 2 ways:

by sending an email to the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia,
-
by visiting either the Customs House (address: 10 Admiral Isakov Ave, Yerevan 0082) or the State Revenue Committee (address: 3 Movses Khorenatsi St, Yerevan 0015).
To apply in person, you should:
- visit the Customs House (address: 10 Admiral Isakov Avenue, Yerevan 0082) or the State Revenue Committee (address: 3 Movses Khorenatsi Street, Yerevan 0015),
- submit the required documents.
Requirements
To import personal belongings to Armenia without paying customs duty, you must:
-
be an Armenian by nationality who is moving to Armenia for permanent residence,
-
hold RA citizenship or have permanent or special residency status in Armenia,
-
have lived abroad for at least 1,280 days and no more than 2,550 days in the past 7 years,
-
not have used this benefit previously.
Attention: Before applying to the State Revenue Committee, you must visit a passport office of your choice to obtain a certificate confirming the fact of moving to Armenia.
Required documents
To import your personal belongings without customs duty, you must submit the following documents to the Customs House or the RA State Revenue Committee:

a certificate confirming your relocation to Armenia for permanent residence (obtained in advance from your preferred passport office),
-
a document confirming your right to live in Armenia, specifically:
-
if you are a citizen of Armenia: a copy of your Armenian passport,
-
if you have permanent residency status: your permanent residence card,
-
if you have special residency status: your special passport,
-
if you are a refugee: your refugee certificate,
-
if you are a displaced person: a document confirming your status,
-
-
a passport or residence card from the foreign country you are relocating from,
-
a list of imported items, including their names, weights, quantities, and invoices indicating their value,
-
a property transfer contract signed with the shipping company and the payment receipt,
-
if importing a vehicle, registration and ownership documents issued by the authorized body of the foreign country, in the name of the individual.
Delivery period and procedure
The application to import your belongings into Armenia without customs duty will be reviewed within 10 working days. After that, the State Revenue Committee will notify you about the decision via email.
- If the application is approved, you may visit the Customs House to receive your belongings without paying customs duty.
- If the application is denied, you will need to pay the required customs duty to receive your items.
