The physical presence of the couple is required to register the marriage; however, the application can be submitted through an authorized person.

Requirements

You need to visit the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency (CSD, or ЗАГС) at the place of registration (or residence, if a certificate of residence is provided) of one of the marrying individuals. You must submit the application and the required documents.

Required documents 

To register the marriage, the following documents must be submitted:

• A joint written application from the marrying individuals,
• Copies of passports,
• If either party has previously been married, the divorce certificate, the court ruling on the divorce, or the death certificate of the spouse (if the foundational document is missing from the electronic register).

If the application is submitted by an authorized person, they must also provide:

• A completed application signed and notarized by the marrying individual, which must contain the following information:
• Full name, patronymic, surname, date and place of birth, citizenship, residence, passport series and number, and optionally, ethnicity, education, and workplace of each marrying individual,
• Marital status prior to the marriage,
• Surname after the marriage registration,
• Desired date of marriage registration,
• Whether the marriage should be registered in a ceremonial manner,
• Whether the marriage registration period should be shortened.

Payment Amount and Procedure

State marriage registration is free of charge.

Ceremonial marriage registration may cost up to 60,000 AMD. The prices are set for ceremonial registrations.

Delivery Period and Procedure

The state marriage registration takes place on the date specified in the joint application submitted by the marrying individuals. It will be carried out no sooner than the next business day after the application is submitted and no later than six months from the submission.
