Obtain Special Residence Status Abroad
The special passport is issued with a validity period of 10 years, with the possibility of an extension.
To obtain a special passport abroad, it is necessary to physically apply to the Armenian embassy or consulate of the country in question.
Requirements
To obtain a special passport, you need:
- Be a foreign citizen of Armenian descent
- Be a foreign citizen carrying out economic or cultural activities in the Republic of Armenia
Required Documents
It is necessary to submit the following documents to the relevant Armenian embassy or consulate:
- Application addressed to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia,
- A letter addressed to the head of the Armenian embassy or consulate, which must contain the following information:
- Current and previous (if any) citizenship
- Motives for applying for a special residence status
- Profession and work
- Visits to Armenia
- Previous residence statuses in the Republic of Armenia (if any)
- Presence of a criminal conviction
- Passport or travel document and its notarized Armenian translation
- 6 photos, 35x45mm size
- A document confirming Armenian nationality
- Receipt for payment of state duty
Additional Documents Required
If you are a minor, you must also submit:
- Passport of the parent or legal representative and a document confirming the family relationship.
If applying through an authorized person, the authorized person must also submit:
- Their passport and power of attorney.
Payment Amount and Procedure
To obtain a special residence status, you must pay 150,000 AMD. Payment must be made online.
Attention
Special residence status is provided free of charge to persons under the age of 18.
Delivery Time and Procedure
The application for special residence status is examined within 3 months. If the person's application is approved, the person is issued a special passport. To obtain the passport, it is necessary to visit the embassy or consular post where the person applied for special residence status.
