Receive a Named Scholarship for Students of General Education Schools.

Within the framework of the program, the state provides named scholarships to diploma holders of general education institutions.

To receive a named scholarship, the educational institution submits an application to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, presenting the details of the student applying for support and their achievements in the Olympiad.

About the Program
The state provides named scholarships to students of general education institutions who are diploma holders (participants) of the republican stages of subject Olympiads for Armenian school students, and international Olympiads. 

Application Requirements
The named scholarship is granted to students of general education institutions who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • They are diploma holders of the republican stage of Armenian school subject Olympiads,
  • They are prizewinners or participants of the final stages of international subject Olympiads for schoolchildren,
  • They are prizewinners of the final stages of other international Olympiads with participation from at least 15 countries.

Amount of Support
For diploma holders of the republican stage of subject Olympiads for Armenian school students, the following monthly scholarships are provided:

  • 10,000 AMD for first-degree diploma holders,
  • 7,500 AMD for second-degree diploma holders,
  • 5,000 AMD for third-degree diploma holders.

For prizewinners or participants of the final stages of international subject Olympiads for schoolchildren:

  • 25,000 AMD for first-degree diploma holders (gold medalists),
  • 20,000 AMD for second-degree diploma holders (silver medalists),
  • 15,000 AMD for third-degree diploma holders (bronze medalists),
  • 12,000 AMD for recipients of certificates of commendation,
  • 10,000 AMD for other participants of the final stage.

For prizewinners of the final stages of other international Olympiads (with participants from at least 15 countries):

  • 15,000 AMD for first-degree diploma holders (gold medalists),
  • 10,000 AMD for second-degree diploma holders (silver medalists),
  • 7,500 AMD for third-degree diploma holders (bronze medalists).

Procedure and Timeline

  • Once the General Education Department of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports receives the relevant information confirming that the criteria are met, a draft order for granting the named scholarship is submitted for the Minister’s signature within two weeks.
  • The named scholarship is provided to students for one academic year through their educational institution. Regardless of the institution’s legal-organizational form, scholarships are transferred non-cash to the student.
  • If the recipient’s studies at the given institution are terminated, the remaining amount of the annual named scholarship is paid as a lump sum.
