How to Apply

To submit an application for the termination of Armenian citizenship, you must:

• Register and log in to your personal account,
• select the "Applications" section from the menu,
• create a new application,
• select the type of service,
• choose the legal basis for renouncing your citizenship,
• on the next page, if there are any data discrepancies or changes, check the box and attach a supporting document,
• upload a 35x45 mm photo,
• verify your personal details (you may add an additional residential address and phone number),
• attach the required documents based on your specific case,
• provide details of close relatives (optionally),
• review all information for completeness and submit the application,
• pay the state fee by clicking the corresponding button.

Requirements

Individuals may apply to terminate their Armenian citizenship if they:

• Already hold the citizenship of another country,
• do not yet have another citizenship but possess legal proof that they will acquire one,
• do not yet have another citizenship but will provide legal proof of acquisition within a three-month period.

Required Documents

The necessary documentation depends on the legal basis of your application.

Documents to be attached according to the category:

• Documents for applicants who already hold citizenship of another country,

• Documents for those who have legal assurance of acquiring another citizenship,

• Documents for those who will provide legal assurance within a three-month period.

Payment Amount and Procedure

Once all documents are uploaded and details are filled, you must pay the state fee online via the system.

• The state fee for renouncing citizenship is AMD 150,000.
• The system will redirect you to the online payment page after you have attached the necessary documents.

Processing Time and Procedure

You will be notified of the application approval via email and through the platform within 15 business days of submission.

If required translations are missing or documents do not match the selected basis, the application will be returned for corrections. You will have 10 business days to make the necessary changes.

Upon approval, you will receive a notification to book an appointment. You must then visit the Migration and Citizenship Service (MCS) office or an Armenian Embassy/Consulate at the scheduled time with the original copies of all documents.
