Obtaining an Entry Visa or an E-VISA (electronic visa) for Armenia
An Armenian entry visa allows a foreign citizen to enter, stay, and exit Armenia within the validity period and under the conditions specified in the visa.
There are two ways to obtain an Armenian entry visa:

Applying through an Embassy or Consulate
- Applicants must visit the Armenian embassy or consulate in their country after booking an appointment in advance.
- If there is no Armenian diplomatic representation in the applicant’s country, they can apply through an Armenian embassy or consulate in another country.

Applying Online for an E-VISA
- Citizens of certain countries can apply online through the E-VISA system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
- E-VISA is available for holders of ordinary passports or travel documents from 73 countries.
- To check if a visa is required, visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (refresh the page when selecting a country).
To apply:
- Click "Apply for e-visa."
- Select the passport type and issuing country, then enter your email address.
- Verify your email via the confirmation link sent to your inbox.
- Fill out the online form, upload the required documents, and follow the instructions.
Required Documents for E-VISA
Mandatory documents:
- Completed online application form
- Scanned copy of passport or travel document
- Recent photo
- Payment of state fee
Recommended documents (if available):
- Flight ticket
- Hotel booking
- Invitation from a travel agency
- Bank statement or proof of financial means
- Travel health insurance
- Passport pages showing previous visas or residence permits from the last 3 years
- Any other relevant documents
Visa Duration, Fees, and Payment
Visa fees vary depending on the duration:
- Up to 21 days - $7 USD
- Up to 120 days - $34 USD
Payment is made online when applying.
Processing Time
E-VISA is processed within 3 business days.
Applicants can track their application status by clicking "Check application status" on the platform.
If an E-VISA is denied:
- The rejection reason is sent via email.
- If the issue was missing documents or incorrect personal data, the applicant can reapply with the correct information.
Visa Extensions
An Armenian entry visa can only be extended within Armenia before its expiration.
To extend a visa, applicants must contact the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of Armenia (commonly known as OVIR).
