Receive hospital care for individuals under 18
Within the framework of the program, inpatient medical care and services are provided free of charge or on preferential terms (state-funded) to individuals under the age of 18.
To receive medical care, one must apply to a polyclinic. In urgent cases, visit the admissions department of any medical institution via emergency services.
About the Program
Under this program, individuals under the age of 18 are eligible to receive free or subsidized inpatient medical care and services guaranteed by the state in the following formats:
- 24-hour inpatient care
- Daytime inpatient care
- Specialized medical care in cases that do not require 24-hour supervision
- Outpatient medical care and services provided within hospitals
- Emergency short-term (2 to 24 hours) inpatient medical care (Emergency services).
Eligibility
Citizens of the Republic of Armenia under the age of 18 are eligible to apply.
Required Documents
To receive medical care under this program, the following documents must be submitted:
- An identification document or birth certificate,
- A referral from the district physician, or, in emergency cases, a referral from emergency medical services or a written conclusion from the on-duty physician at the hospital's admissions department.
Provision Procedure
Support, including rehabilitative medical care and services, is provided in the following cases:
- When treatment requires inpatient hospitalization.
- For infectious diseases, including tuberculosis (in anti-tuberculosis dispensaries or centers), other infectious diseases (including intestinal infections) in hospitals licensed for pediatric infectious care.
- For sexually transmitted and dermatological diseases, under state order.
- For malignant tumors, including onco-hematological diseases, with diagnosis confirmation, consultation, and specialized examination in authorized centers.
- For mental health disorders, treatment and specialized care in pediatric psychiatric units of licensed institutions with state contracts.
- For newborn care and treatment.
- For peritoneal and hemodialysis treatment, in hospitals with state funding for these services.
In planned cases, the patient must visit a medical institution with a referral from their physician.
In emergency cases, patients are admitted via the emergency medical service.
If a patient is brought to the hospital on their own or by a family member in urgent situations, medical care and services are provided based on the conclusion of the on-duty physician at the admissions department.
