Obtain a public sector accountant qualification
To obtain a public sector accountant qualification (for example, for state agencies of the Republic of Armenia), you need to:

Submit an application with the required documents to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia (address: 1 Melik-Adamyan St.),

Take part in the public sector accountant qualification exam on the scheduled date.
The exams are held regularly, at least once every 3 months, provided that at least one application has been received.
Eligibility requirements
To apply, you must meet one of the following requirements:

Have a degree in economics, or
-
Have a higher education degree and at least 18 months of professional experience, or
-
Have a complete secondary or secondary vocational education (technical school, college, etc.) and at least 3 years of professional experience, or
-
Be employed as a chief accountant in a public sector organization on the date of application.
Professional experience includes work in accounting, finance, taxation, auditing, economics, or in related roles such as methodologist, expert, controller, consultant, researcher, lecturer, or specialist in these fields.
Required documents
To participate in the qualification exam, you must first submit an application (the application form is provided on site) along with the following documents:

A copy of your diploma or certificate of education

A document confirming professional work experience (an extract or copy from the employment record book and/or a copy of the civil law contract and a certificate confirming its execution)

2 photos (3x4 cm)

A receipt confirming payment of the state duty
Payment amount and procedure
The state duty for taking the public sector accountant qualification exam is 3,000 AMD.
Payment can be made through:
- E-payments system
- Bank transfer to the Armenian state budget account: 900005163234
- In the payment purpose field, type: “Payment for taking the professional accountant qualification exam.”
If the account is not available in the banking app, select the option "Transfer to the state budget."
- In the payment purpose field, type: “Payment for taking the professional accountant qualification exam.”
In addition to the state fee, applicants must also pay an exam fee, which ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 AMD, depending on the subject.
Review period and procedure
- Applications are reviewed within 5 working days after the submission of the required documents.
- Applicants are notified about the exam date, time, and venue at least 7 working days before the exam.
- Within 18 working days after the exam, the results are reviewed, and an order is issued either granting or refusing the qualification.
- To get your certificate, you must visit the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia in person (address: 1 Melik-Adamyan St.).
