To apply for an accountant qualification, you must submit the required documents to the Ministry of Finance of Armenia (Address: 1 Melik Adamyan St.) and pass the qualification exams.

Exams are held periodically, at least once every two months, if at least one application is received.

Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Higher education and at least 18 months of professional experience
• General secondary or vocational education (technical school, college, etc.) and 3 years of professional experience
• Currently employed as a chief accountant in an organization that publishes financial reports

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

• Application form (available at the Ministry of Finance)
• Copy of diploma or certificate of education
• Extract from the employment record book or its copy, and/or a copy of a civil contract along with a confirmation of contract fulfillment
• Two 3x4 cm photos
• Payment receipt for the state fee

Payment Amount and Procedure

The state fee for taking the accountant qualification exam is 3,000 AMD.

Payment can be made through:

• E-payments system
• Bank transfer to the Armenian state budget account: 900005163234
  • In the payment purpose field, write:
    “For taking the professional accountant qualification exam”
  • If the account is not available in the banking app, select the option "Transfer to the state budget."

In addition to the state fee, applicants must also pay an exam fee, which ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 AMD, depending on the subject.

Delivery Period and Procedure

• Applications are reviewed within 5 working days after submission.
• The qualification committee evaluates the results within 2 working days after the exam and submits a recommendation to the Minister of Finance.
• Based on this recommendation, the minister decides within 3 working days to either grant or deny the qualification.
• Qualified applicants receive their accountant certification within 3 working days after the minister’s decision.
