Apply for a Lump Sum birth benefit
A lump-sum birth benefit is financial support provided by the state to the family of a newborn child. Its purpose is to improve the demographic situation and stimulate birth rates.
The support program is also intended for people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
To receive the lump-sum child benefit in person, you must apply to any regional center of the Unified Social Service and submit the required documents.
Requirements
The lump-sum birth benefit is provided if the parent and the newborn child are registered at the address of residence in the Republic of Armenia and are in the Republic of Armenia as of the date of application.
A lump-sum birth benefit is assigned to a foreign citizen parent if, as of the date of birth of the newborn child, the parent has been registered at the address of residence in the Republic of Armenia for at least three consecutive years and no lump-sum birth benefit has been assigned (paid) in a foreign country in connection with the birth of the child.
Required Documents
To receive the benefit, you must submit the following documents:
- Application
- Passport or ID card
- Public service number - social card number (not required if you have an ID card)
- Child's birth certificate
Attention
It is important to submit the documents within 12 months of the child's birth month (before the child turns 1 year old), otherwise the application will be rejected.
Amount of Support
The lump sum birth benefit is:
- 300,000 AMD for the birth of the first and second children
- 1,000,000 AMD for the birth of the third and fourth children
- 1,500,000 AMD for the birth of the fifth and subsequent children
Delivery Period and Procedure
The application is approved or rejected within 10 business days after submission. Within 1 year after the application is approved, you can visit the bank with an identification document and receive the benefit.
