Receive Compensation for Textbook Fees
Within the framework of the program, the cost of textbooks is reimbursed for children from socially vulnerable families and families receiving social assistance in border communities of the Republic of Armenia.
To receive reimbursement for the cost of textbooks, parents must apply to the school that their children attend. The list of students from socially vulnerable families in that educational institution is compiled during a joint session of the pedagogical and parental councils and is approved by the school principal.
About the Program
- The cost of textbooks for students from socially vulnerable families in general education schools is fully reimbursed by the state budget of the Republic of Armenia.
- The amount of textbook reimbursement is determined each academic year by an order of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
Application Requirements
Students who are registered in the social vulnerability assessment system or are included in state-supported social assistance programs may apply for textbook cost reimbursement.
Required Documents
To receive textbook reimbursement, it is necessary to present documents confirming:
- Registration in the family vulnerability assessment system,
- Inclusion in state-run social assistance programs.
Procedure and Timeline
By October 15 of each year, the Textbook and Information Communication Technology Circulation Foundation compiles and submits to the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports information regarding the reimbursement of textbook costs for students in public schools located in border communities receiving social assistance. This information includes the number of students per school and per class, the amount subject to reimbursement, and the terms of transfer.
