New regulations for retaking the driving license exam

Starting from September 1, 2025, new rules for retaking the driving license exam have come into effect.

Previously, if a person failed the driving license exam, they were required to wait one week before registering for a retake.
However, due to the high volume of applicants and requests, authorities have introduced an accelerated retake service available for an additional fee.

According to the new rules, if a person fails the exam for the first time, they can retake it:

  • the very next day by paying 45,000 AMD,

  • on the 3rd day by paying 30,000 AMD.

It’s important to note that this is an additional option, and the standard 7-day waiting period for free registration remains in place.

Furthermore, if a person fails the exam a second time or any subsequent time, they can schedule a retake as follows:

  • after the second failure, on the 7th day by paying 45,000 AMD,

  • after each additional failure, on the 14th day by paying 30,000 AMD.

Detailed information about obtaining, issuing, renewing the driving license, as well as the theoretical and practical exams, can be found in the "Owning a Car" life event guide.
