Drivers' penalty points will be increased from 9 to 13 per year starting May 1st
Starting May 1, 2025, new changes to the penalty points system will come into effect.
The 9 penalty points system will be replaced by a 13-point system.
- For citizens who have unused points, their point threshold will automatically be adjusted to 13 points. For example, if 2 points have been used from the original 9, their points will be set to 13 starting May 1.
- If the driver’s license is suspended, 13 points will be provided starting from the day after the suspension ends.
- The responsibility for violations related to safety will become stricter, such as not fastening the seat belt, crossing into the opposite lane, and using communication devices while driving.
Details about fines for drivers, the discounts available, and traffic regulations can be found in the guide.
