The temporary incapacity benefit is calculated using the same principle as vacation pay, with two specific differences:
No payment is made for the first day of incapacity.
For each subsequent day, the benefit is paid at the rate of 80% of the calculated average wage.
The temporary incapacity benefit is paid based on the number of days of the employee's illness, starting from the 2nd day.
The employee no longer needs to physically present a hard copy of the sick leave certificate provided by the medical institution to the employer.
Employees can check the status of their benefit through e-Social. By registering and logging into their personal account, they can view details regarding the calculation and provision of the benefit.
There is no need to submit an application through the platform. Once the employee visits a medical institution for treatment, their temporary incapacity benefit entry is automatically created and becomes accessible in the "My Applications" section of the e-social.am portal.
For common illnesses, the temporary incapacity benefit is paid for up to 120 days, while in cases of tuberculosis, it is paid for up to 240 days.
The temporary incapacity benefit is paid to the employee's bank account along with their salary, either at the end of the month or at the beginning of the following month.
For a hired employee, the temporary incapacity benefit is not paid for the first working day.
The employer pays for the following 5 working days, and the remaining portion of the benefit is paid from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia.
The employee no longer needs to physically submit a sick leave certificate to the employer. This process is managed between the medical institution, the State Revenue Committee, and the employer.

Yes, the temporary incapacity benefit is provided even if you are working as a multi-jobholder (concurrently). The benefit is calculated, assigned, and paid by each employer separately.
The incapacity benefit is not provided:
To individuals whose temporary incapacity was caused by injuries sustained while committing a crime or other illegal acts,
If the employee refuses to undergo a medico-social examination,
For days when the treatment regimen prescribed by a doctor was violated without a valid reason.
The employer generally does not have the right to dismiss you during a period of temporary incapacity. However, there are specific exceptions where an employer may terminate your employment. These exceptions include:
Liquidation of the organization,
Bankruptcy of the employer,
Redundancy (reduction of positions),
Expiration of the employment contract.
The sickness benefit is provided for a period of 3 months, starting from the 2nd day of the illness.
The prosthetics benefit is provided for the working days of the entire period spent in a medical institution (inpatient care), starting from the 2nd working day.
The sanatorium treatment benefit is provided to hired employees sent directly from a medical institution (inpatient care) to a sanatorium for treatment, as well as to hired employees who have gone to a tuberculosis sanatorium. The benefit is provided for the working days of the entire period spent in the sanatorium, starting from the 2nd working day.
The benefit for caring for a sick family member is provided in the following cases:
In case of necessity to care for a sick adult family member at home (outpatient): for the working days of a period not exceeding 7 calendar days, starting from the 2nd working day.
In case of necessity to care for a sick child at home (outpatient): for the working days of a period not exceeding 24 calendar days (or not exceeding 28 calendar days if the care is required due to infectious diseases), starting from the 2nd working day.
When providing care for a sick child in a hospital (inpatient): for the working days of the entire period of the hospital stay, starting from the 2nd working day.
When providing care for a child under 18 who has a disability or needs individual care during their sanatorium treatment: for the working days of the entire period of the child's sanatorium treatment, starting from the 2nd working day, but not exceeding the duration specified in the referral.
