How to Apply for Support: A returning citizen of Armenia (or, in the case of a family, any adult family member) must submit an application and the required documents to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia (address: Yerevan, Tigran Mets 14).

About the program

The program consists of two components. The first component provides informational support and guidance based on needs, while the second component ensures housing support.

The first component applies to both forcibly and voluntarily returning citizens of Armenia. The second component mainly targets forcibly returning citizens, including:

  • Armenian citizens deported or expelled from foreign countries,
  • Those returning under readmission agreements.

Requirements

Citizens who have been living abroad for at least 1 year and have been forcibly returned to Armenia are eligible for housing support (second component). To qualify, they must apply within 3 months of their return and not own residential property in Armenia.

For the second component of the program, voluntary returnees may apply for housing support if they meet the criteria outlined above and belong to at least one of the following vulnerable groups:

  • Large families (with 4 or more children),
  • Individuals with disabilities.

Required Documents

To apply for support, the following documents are required:

  • Application form,
  • Identification documents of the applicant and their family members (if available),
  • Certificate of return,
  • Court or administrative decisions on deportation or expulsion,
  • Additional documents providing information on the duration of stay abroad, return to Armenia, disability status, large family status, etc.

Delivery Period and Procedure

  • Within 3 working days, the service staff will identify the needs of individuals requiring social protection or housing support based on the documents submitted.
  • Within the next 2 working days, a personal file will be created for the applicant, attaching all relevant documents that verify their status.
  • After the personal file is created, the individual will be directed to the appropriate institution within 3 days.
